David Brayshaw - FAIHA
David Brayshaw was born in Sydney In 1960. Since the age of ten he taught himself to paint and in 1994/5 studied Fine Art at the Illawarra Institute and the Royal art society moving on to further studies in Colour Theories in 2005. He then joined workshops with artists of differing styles to investigate other techniques. He has been a Professional artist since 1982 mainly working in oil paint and mixed media.
In 1983, David was invited to be a fellow of the Australian Institute of History and Arts for ?reaching an extraordinary degree of competence? in his field, making him the Institute?s youngest member ever. David has an impressive list of artistic achievements; these include a string of art prizes, commendations and sell out one-person exhibitions. David?s search for new and unusual painting subjects has led him through the Great Barrier
Reef, Australian Alps, rainforests and windswept Australian coastline as well as a series of interiors featuring views to Sydney Harbour. His work has featured in many art publications, including Australian Artist magazine which wrote ? There are many artists painting today who are potentially good investments, while the list is extensive, a number of the them stand out.? Top of the list of eight was David Brayshaw.
David has been widely read in numerous magazines and publications around the country and his works are Included in many National and International collections both private and corporate including the Commonwealth Artbank. And collections in USA, Canada, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Britain and Germany. David has been exhibiting with us since 2006 and has been included in the last two editions of Kevin Hill?s ?TOP TEN? Australian Artists books.
